The structured project “Strengthening capacities and mechanisms for improving the system of
quality assurance in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina” continues with a study
visit in Ljubljana from 4 to 7 November 2024 organised in cooperation between the
University of Ljubljana and SQAA / NAKVIS. The event focused on strengthening quality
assurance systems with a focus on compliance with European Quality Standards (ESG).
In a beautiful ambience of Hotel City and cheerful atmosphere, hosts welcomed project
partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. During the study visit, SMEQA project
partners get access to knowledge about external quality assurance system in Slovenia,
practices and firsthand experience from the hosts, University of Ljubljana and Slovenian
quality assurance agency for higher education, on how to overcome a external evaluation
challanges or implement a solutions by following legislative framework and procedures in the
context of European standard goals 2 (ESG 2). In particlular, colleaques from University in
Ljubljana evaluated results of external evaluations and the role of the internal QA system at
their institution. Moreover, colleaques from University in Maribor presented experiences with
the re-accreditation of higher education institutions (HEI) which is accompanied by plenty of
questions and discussion from participants.
The outcomes of successful study visit was to enable participants to adopt and apply newly
acquired insights, mechanisms and procedures with accent on stengthening and enhancing
capacities and mechanisms of QA systems through actions in academic, and non-academic
institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
