Sarajevo, October 3, 2025 – A conference titled “Development of Internal Quality Assurance Systems and Evaluation Principles” was successfully held at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ project SMEQA – Strengthening Capacities and Mechanisms for Enhancement of Quality Assurance System in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Project No. 101128889-ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE-STRAND 3).
The event gathered a large number of participants from the higher education sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with international experts from partner institutions. The conference was marked by highly productive discussions, professional presentations, and the exchange of valuable experiences and good practices.
Highlights of the Conference:
- The conference was opened with welcome speeches from representatives of the University of Sarajevo and the SMEQA project team, emphasizing the strategic importance of enhancing quality assurance in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić presented various models of internal quality assurance systems, addressing their implementation challenges and benefits.
- Representatives from the University of Split and the University of Ljubljana shared their institutional experiences and good practices in internal QA systems, offering valuable insights for BiH institutions.
- Monija Malešević discussed the structure and importance of the Self-Evaluation Report, with a focus on the use of statistical data in quality analysis.
- Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković and Prof. Dr. Majda Čohodar-Husić presented key findings from the Report on the Analysis of Existing Internal QA Models in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which provided the foundation for further dialogue.
- In the final session, participants actively engaged in a discussion on recommendations for improving internal QA systems and evaluation practices in BiH higher education institutions.
The conference concluded with closing remarks by representatives of the University of Sarajevo, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes and strong engagement of participants throughout the day.
