SMEQA Round Table to Discuss Lessons Learned from Piloting Internal Evaluation and Expert Training

The first day, 29 September, will focus on the piloting of the internal evaluation procedure and the self-evaluation of study programmes. Following a presentation of the mandatory content components of study programme self-evaluation reports, representatives of participating universities will present their experiences, challenges and difficulties encountered during the self-evaluation process. The programme will also include a presentation on the capabilities of the eUNSA university information system, followed by a joint QA session dedicated to conclusions and lessons learned from piloting the internal evaluation procedure.

The second day, 30 September, will address the selection and appointment of experts and the results of expert training activities. Discussions will focus on criteria and requirements for expert selection and appointment, professional qualifications, experience and competencies, as well as the composition and role of expert panels. Representatives of relevant institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with experts from AZVO and NAKVIS, will contribute to the exchange of perspectives and experiences regarding expert selection and appointment.

The afternoon session will focus on Experts Trainings: Results, Experience and Lessons Learned, including the objectives and methodology of the trainings, the main topics and competences addressed, theoretical and practical exercises, and feedback from trained experts. Representatives of the University of Sarajevo, University of Banja Luka, University of Herzegovina, University Apeiron and University Vitez will participate in the panel discussion. Particular attention will be given to key lessons learned and areas for further improvement.

The Round Table will conclude with a discussion of key lessons learned, challenges and areas for further improvement, providing an opportunity to translate the experiences gained through the SMEQA project into recommendations and further steps for strengthening quality assurance practices in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Through this two-day exchange, the SMEQA Round Table aims to support joint learning, experience sharing and the further development of effective internal quality assurance mechanisms and expert capacities within the higher education system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
