Workshop on External Quality Assurance Support: Strengthening Capacities of Quality Assurance in the Higher Education System, Held on June 5th, 2025, in Neum
Workshop on External Quality Assurance Support “Strengthening Capacities of Quality Assurance in the Higher Education System” was held on June 5th, 2025, in Neum, as part of the 14th Research-Expert Conference “Quality 2025”, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project SMEQA – Strengthening Capacities and Mechanisms for Enhancement of Quality Assurance System in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the outset of the roundtable and panel discussion on the topic “Effects of the Application of Existing Quality Assurance Models in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Their Future Perspectives,” four speakers delivered their presentations.
Following the introductory speeches, representatives of the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HEA) presented the aims and objectives of the workshop focusing on the responsibilities, structure, and role of the Expert Panel from the ESG perspective, as well as the legal framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the continuation of the workshop, the following topics were presented: “Preparing the Panel Visit – HEA Support to the Expert Panel and Collaboration with CEAs” and “World Café – Addressing Key Challenges in the Preparation and Organization of the Expert Panel in the Accreditation Process.”
During the final session, participants were divided into three groups. The primary focus of this session was on identifying and addressing the key challenges related to the preparation and organization of the Expert Panel.
The workshop proved to be highly valuable, offering both experts and participants a deeper understanding of the complex aspects of external quality assurance in the higher education system. Through presentations and interactive discussions, attendees gained clearer insights into the responsibilities, structure, and role of the Expert Panel from the ESG perspective, as well as the legal framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
